The Alchemist

Thanks to my soon to be sister-in-Law Jessica, half the Cottam family has read this awesome book! I am a little over half way through and it has been full of little inspirational thoughts. This book just makes you want to go out and find "your personal legend". I highly recommend this book for a good read, and a little inspiration!

Twilight the movie

This is who I was visualizing for the part of Edward - Hayden Christiansen

This is who I wanted for the part of Bella swan - Danielle Panabacker (from the show Shark)

This is who the movie production chose for the parts of Bella and Edward.
Robert Pattinson - Playing Edward
Kristen Stewart - Playing Bella Swan

I am really excited about the actors they chose. I have been visualizing what they would look like from the books and they are dead on. I would of liked Danielle and Hayden a little better, but I guess I will just have to deal.

"Twilight" begins shooting in Oregon at the end of February Yea!
I think I might have to sneak over to the shoot to catch a glimpse of the action.

Travel by Plane

I have always found flying to be an interesting experience. The fact that you can fly some where in an hour in the amount of times it takes someone to drive 14 hours. It almost should not be possible. When ever I get a window seat I stare out the window and think of all the things that are going on below. I think about all of the people that are down there, and how they make things so complicated. From the air everything looks so peaceful and simple. I think this must be how God sees the world.

The waiting game.

My cousin Kate, Sister Rebekah and I.

Uncle Doug, Dad, Aunt Alicia, Granny Bea.

A month ago my Papa had a massive heat attack, while visiting his son in Salt Lake City. During the past month things have not been getting to much better. He has been in the intensive care the whole time except for a few day. We are not sure how things are going to end up. I traveled up to see him in Salt lake City this weekend. Lots of family and friends came out to see him. I got to see aunties, uncles and cousins I have not seen in a very long time. It was nice to be able to catch up with everyone, even under the circumstances. I take great comfort in knowing that if Papa moves on to the next life, this is not the end! I know that I will be with him again, feel his loving arms around and give him a giant squeaker kiss!

Once

Such a good movie! Adam and I saw Once this weekend and I loved it. Lots of singing and a little bit of romance! Now that I have seen Once, I hear the songs on the radio all the time. This is going to have to be apart of my musical collection, for sure!

Cookies Please.

Adam and I went the the grocery store last night to get some ready to bake cookies. When we got up to the check out line we noticed that the package was already open. Adam offered to run back and get another pack, but the casher said that he would call someone to get it. So he picked up the phone and did an over head announcement " Can I get a Pillsbury read to bake, Big Deluxe, Triple chocolate indulgence cookies to aisle 7. I repeat, Pillsbury ready to bake, Big Deluxe, Triple chocolate indulgence cookies to aisle 7. Adam and I were both laughing so hard, along with the other people in the lane. It was a little embarrassing, but what can you do! :)

Empty Nest

My youngest sister Rebekah is the last one to leave home. She moved down to St George Utah, to go to school in December. Now my parents are alone together for the first time in almost 30 years. Having children is a life long commitment. Once they move out, they still worry, and want the best for you.

My parent are such good people! I got really lucky to end up with them. The best part is they will alway love me and that is the most comforting thing of all.

Tornado in Portland?

For the first time in who know how long we had a tornado in Portland. I couldn't believe what I was hearing when the emergency alert system came on the radio, telling people to take cover and get away from there windows. I just kept listening to the radio waiting for the DJ to came on and say it was all a joke. Then the rain really picked up. I have never seen it rain as hard as it did today. It is scary how powerful nature can be.

Tempur-Pedic - I need this.

I think I need one of these for a good night of sleep. Lately, or should I say for the past year I have been waking up with a small back ache. We have only had our new mattress for a little over a year and a half and it is a really nice one. I just think it is too firm for me, Adam loves it of course. I testes the Tempur-Pedics at a mattress store the other day and it was pure heaven. I went on to the Tempur-Pedic website www.tempurpedic.com
where they have a hotel locater that has there beds, that way you can go test out the beds for a night and see how they sleep. I think the next time we take a trip I am going to test out one of these babyies. If only it wasn't 2 grand! :(

Pretty little things

I am a simple girl, but I love pretty things. It has come to my attention recently that I hardly ever where jewelry. I think that it is because I plum don't have that many things to where. I found some things that I would love to have on a site called pretty little things. They were very reasonably priced too. I think I might have to buy my self an early birthday gift soon.

Night on fire.

Last night was exciting! I put something in the oven and a few minutes later i heard a popping sound. When I went to investigate I found the oven on fire. I screamed out on instance and called for Adam to help me. I opened the oven and fire went shooting out. I finally got my head together and turned off the power on the oven and the flames slowly died down. I am now realizing the importance of having a fire extinguisher handy. Our place if fine except for the smell of burnt metal. I think something else that needs to go on the new years resolution list is finally putting together our 72 hour kit, because you just never know when you could accidental burn down your home!:) On the up side I think me might get a new stove! Yea!

The Edge

Every day I open the newspaper at work and read in the Edge. The Edge is a collum about silly people who do silly things. In today's paper they re caped the funniest people of 2007.
I was laughing so hard at some of these I just had to share.

Doofus du Year:
Daniel Brown, 22 of Hartseile, Al., Who wore a ski mask to hide his identity when he staged a home invasion robbery at his grandfathers house in January but blew his cover when he burst in, yelling: "I need your money and I mean it Papa!"

Court appearance of the year:
In Modesto. Ca, Josh Moreno, attempting to get a judge to lift a restraining order, went to court disguised as his wife, wearing a dress, high heels, red lipstick and a long black wig and spoke in a falsetto high-pitched voice. The judge was not fooled and Moreno was arrested.

Quote of the Year:
"Nobody tells the Wookiee what to do"
-Chewbacca impersonator arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly head butting a Hollywood tour guide.
