Our first stop driving up the coast from Santa Barbara was to see the Elephant seals near San Simeon.

Our second stop was San Francisco. Since we were pressed for time we only hit a few places. Lombard street, Ghirardelli square & the Golden gate bridge.

Anna's 21 months and counting!

Anna is now 21 months old. I am not sure when you stop telling people how many months she is. I am guessing when she turns two, which is only a few months away. Anna has grown so much in the last few months that I feel the need to record some of her little things she is doing. Anna is definitely entering into the terrible twos. I am realizing why they prefaces the twos with the word terrible. I hope I survive with out having a complete meltdown or going insane.

Some of the little things Anna is doing are hilarious! She has taken to telling everyone that they need to sit down on their bottom, including the cat. She says "sit down, bottom". Mr Niff doesn't listen to her very well so she chases him around. Luck for him we still have a baby gate up that he can jump over to get away from her. Addison/Mr. Niffs/Nene, is doing a lot better with Anna. He even lets her lay on him and pull his tail with out much complaint. Anna likes to bring toys over to him and play with him. He mostly lays their and let her play. I still have to keep an eye on them when they are together but I don't worry too much.

Anna is my little parrot. If you say something once she will repeat it. There have been a few times at church, she has said things I got a little embarrassed about. The other Sunday Anna yelled out "butt cheeks" when she saw someone bend over. She also said "sexy, sexy, sexy", I am not sure why. I think she picked it up from a song on the radio. I guess I need to stick to kids tunes in the car.

Anna is my little book worm! This girl loves books. I have to go to the library every week to get new books for her. We get a dozen books and we read almost all of them everyday. I can tell she is picking up words and learning from the books.

Anna can count up to ten and say her ABC's up to P. She says XYZ, sing with me at the end. We are working on it and I know she will have the whole thing down soon. Anna know most of her colors and even asks for things using the color. She said today "I want red hat," and "I want green sweater". Pure genius if you ask me.

Adam and I try and trick Anna sometimes by asking her a bunch of yes or no questions. We will ask her if she wants a few different things, which she says no to. Then we will ask her if she wants ice cream which she promptly says "yes". We can not trick this girl!

My favorite thing is when Anna gives me a big hug and says "I love you Mama". It just makes it all worth it for me. Anna is such a love. I can tell she genuinely care about others and has a big heart.

It doesn't take much for Anna to like you, but she has a few people that she asks for all the time! Her Grandpa Ken is a big favorite. She asks for him almost every day, and says "Grandpas house" and "Grandpa today". We are luck to have Adams parents close so that Anna can see them often. We are having a Cottam family reunion in June and I have a feeling there is going to be a bit of jealousy, about the other grand kids playing with Grandpa.
Her other favorite friend is Annalise. Anna and Annalise are six days apart in age have known each other since birth. Their little friendship is so sweet. When they see each other there is always lots of hugs and kisses. I feel so lucky that she can have such a good friend!

I sure love this little girl! There is not a single thing I would want to change about her! I think she is prefect! I am so great full to be her mother and to be able to share and explore the world together. I know there are going to be challenges, but I can't wait to see what each new day holds for her.

I love that I found Anna with my running shoes on this morning! I have been getting some good use out of these babies. Anna has been my little helper saying "Mama, outside." It gets me motivated to get out and go running!

I found an awesome website called Trainer Momma. It has been a big help getting me going in the right direction! If anyone knows of some other fitness and nutrition sites that have been helpful, I would love to know!

Walking aroung the Portland Temple

Anna LOVES her Aunt Jess! Jess came to visit last week. Every morning since Jess has been gone she asks where she is! We were at the grocery store yesterday and Anna saw someone that looked like Jessica. Anna started yelling Jess, Jess, Jess! She was very upset when it turned out that it was not Aunt Jessica.

Spring time is so pretty! It is still only in the upper 40's and low 50's! Summer need to hurry up and get here!

Anna got quite good at unwrapping her gifts. She had a lot of practice unwrapping. Anna got the majority of the Christmas gifts. It is just so fun buying for Anna and seeing her unwrap the gifts! I may have gone a little overboard! I could really careless if I got any gifts. Just the joy I got from seeing my little girl open her presents was gift enough for me! Things do change once you have kids!

It was definitely a baby doll Christmas for Anna. She got four dolls, one from her Aunt Sariah, one from her Grandma Susie, one from Nanna Sandy and one from me. She also got a baby doll stroller, which she pushes all four dollies around in.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We had a pretty low key Christmas, we unwrapped gifts with Adam's parents had breakfast then we took a nap. Anna slept for three hours since she woke up at 4am. I guess she was just too excited about all her gifts.

Bend Trip

This was Anna's first time in snow! She was very curious about all the white stuff on the ground. We woke up to about 6 inches of new snow on the morning we were going to leave. We scrambled to get chains for our car and guide our way through the snow.

It was fun seeing Anna and her cousin McKensie play together. We also enjoyed quite a few rounds of Scrabble. Although I am not that good at the game it was a lot of fun and one of my new favorites

Anna was really good in the car. With all the snow on the ground it took up 6 hours to drive home, where it normally take 3. There was only a minor incident when we got back in the car, after eating dinner. Anna had a dirty dipper and she was not having it. It was a full on fit. Screaming, legs and arms kicking, she meant business, I have never seen her that mad. We tried to find a place to change her but came up short. I finally had to change her in her car seat. It was pretty amazing, after she was changed she was totally calm again. Happy baby = Dry dipper!

Adams cousin Brook-Lynn came in to town in the beginning of November. We took her down town to try and convince her she needs to move here. I really think she would love it here. Anna really loved her too. I have never seen Anna want to be held by anyone else as much as she wanted to be held by Brook-Lynn.

My Sweet little Babu is 16 months old! Anna keeps amazing me all of the things she is learning. Her vocabulary has exploded. She can say 40+ words, but her favorites are kitty cat, shoe, cheese, apple, juice and baby. Anna can also do a few signs. She can do the sign for all done and more.

I am sure glad Anna came to our home! We sure love this little girl!

Lee Farm

I have driven by Lee farms a million times with good intentions of one day stopping by. This weekend we finally went to Lee farms. Such a cute place and only 2 miles from our home. Why have I not been going here more often.

You would think it was spring time at the farm because they had a ton of baby animals, much to my delight. I was almost dieing from all the cuteness!!!

Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island

Nothing I love more then my little pumpkin smiling and having fun!

We had to take a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch and it was super scary. The tractor was pulling three trailers with hay pails for seats. The road out to the pumpkins was so muddy and slippery, I thought we were going to end up in the mud a few times. Once we got over to the pumpkins we had to cross over the most sticky deep mud ever. The mud was so sticky that as I was walking in the mud my shoe popped of and Adam had to pick it up and throw it to me. Yuck, Yuck, Yuck!!! Adam told me that he is mudaphobic (fear or getting muddy). I would say that his worst nightmare came true today!

On a good note, I did get some cute pictures of my sweetie amongst the pumpkins. Which is why we braved the mud in the first place.

Pumpkin Pie

Anna's favorite part of the farm was by far the barn with animals in it. As soon as we walked in and she saw birds (which are her favorite right now) she went nuts. She stated saying Buba, buba, buba very loudly. Buba is what she calls any animal, but especially birds.

Anna spent a long time looking at each animal, just taking it all in.

So glad we finally made it to the pumpkin patch. Next year we are going before the rain starts! It's a lot less muddy that way!

Mom is pretty nervous about the surgery tomorrow. She goes in at 5:45am and should be out of surgery at 4:00pm. I will keep everyone updated on how she is doing. Right now we need lots prayers for her so that she and her brother Wess will have a successful surgery.

Reminiscing at Silver Falls

Silver Falls State Park is where Adam and I had our first date six years ago today. We hiked around the park for ten hours (we got lost) and only saw one water fall. Adam said that he has never been that lost in his entire life. I like to tell him he had to get lost in order to find me! Needless to say it was a memorable experience. We got engaged at Silver Falls exactly one year after our first date there. We hiked the whole trail and didn't get lost once!

Since it was our six year anniversary of our first date, we decided to take Anna back to where it all began.

This is where we got engaged, Lower south falls. It was such a magical moment. As soon as we were under the falls Adam was down on one knee! I could not of picked a more perfect spot! It was so much fun to share are special spot with Anna.

Anna is officially a toddler! Yikes where did the time go.
We recently got a Little Tikes play cube for Anna and it has been a life saver. She plays on this thing everyday. Climbing up and down and million times a day. If only I had that much energy!!!
Anna is now an amazing walker. Once she decided she was gong to walk there was no stopping her. In the last two weeks she went from crawling as her main form of transportation to walking every where. She looks like a drunk sailor when she walks. She bumps into things and falls down often. She doesn't seem to mind though, she just picks herself up and starts walking again.
Anna has learned a few more words. When she sees a dog she will saw bow wow, so cute. When she sees a cat (Addison) she does a high pitched sequel. I think she is making the meow noise loud enough to git Addisons attention. She says Yea, Hi, Wee, and Ut Oh. She can point to her noise when asked to do so and can bring things to Adam and I. There has been so much development in the last month. I can't wait to see what the next few months bring.
Anna is 13 going on 14 months now! Time is just flying by.

Hood to Coast Relay.

Adam was the fist runner. He started at Mt Hood. I ran second coming down the mountain. You might think it is easy running down hill, but I am telling you it is NOT! Adam got the biggest blister I have ever seen from his down hill run. If it was me with that blister I would of tapped out of the race. We packaged up Adams foot really well and he ran another 10 miles.

Some how I ended up with the 3rd hardest runs in the race. I really wanted to trade with Adam (He got one of the easiest runs) but after his blister incident, I had to dig deep and pull it off. The whole time I was running I kept thinking about a van that passed me. They wrote on the van "Suck it up and run", so that is what I did!

Adam and I after running our first leg of the race. Adam ran 5.45 and I ran 5.67 miles.

Adam and I had or first date since Anna has been born this last weekend. We went to see a movie (Inception), which was amazing. My friend Jessica and her husband Dave, went out Friday night while we watched their daughter Annalise. We went out on Saturday while they watched Anna. I was so nervous to leave Anna, even though I know she loves Annalise and her Mama. I just thought that she would cry the whole time I was gone.

Much to my surprise and delight, Anna didn't cry once. Anna watched me leave and then continued playing happily with her friend. My little Anna continues to surprise me. We will definitely be doing the babysitting swap again soon!!!

Anna's Butterfly Birthday Party

Sweet little butterfly cake. My sister Jessica and I stayed up until 1am making this cake. I think it turned out perfect! Below is the little smash cake we made just for Anna.
I made dark chocolate and strawberry chocolate butterfly s. I also made molded chocolate Oreo cookies. They were both supper yummy!

I am so happy with the way these pictures turned out. These are some of the pictures I took for Anna's birthday card. I took me taking pictures two days in a row to get some good shots. I also have to add that I made the tutu, her hair band and I ironed on the butterfly to her shirt. I am feeling quite crafty right now!

A few weekends ago we went down town to sand in the city. They bring in sand to pioneer square and have a sand building contest. I was really amazed at the detail they were able to do with just sand and water.

I love this picture! It looks like Anna is pointing out to her Daddy what she wants at Tiffany & Co. This girl is starting early!
Anna always falls asleep in her stroller. The constant motion on the stroller really knocks her out. Once the stroller stops she always wakes up, with a bit of a grumpy face!

We went over to a park by our house to watch fireworks this year. We found an awesome spot where we could see everything. We camped out for an hour before the show started on the grass. It was a bit chilly, 62 degrees. We kept warm snuggled under a blanket.

Anna was very excited to see so many fun sparklers and small fireworks. Once the real show started that is another matter all together! I have never seen Anna so scared! She was screaming a crawling all over me every time the loud bang of the firework went off. I had to snuggle the poor thing under a blanket the whole time so she would stop screaming.

We got home at about 11pm. Anna was beyond tired. The poor thing had a ruff night. Maybe next year she will enjoy all the pretty fireworks.

When Anna was first born I had a dream of doing a sweet birth announcement. I wanted her to wear a pretty pink tutu and a flower head band. Since I slacked/was over whelmed by being a new mom, I never got around to doing it.

Well I finally made a tutu and now all I need is a clear day to take some pictures outside. I am going to be sending out birthday/birth announcements hopefully in the next week. I am planning on a small butterfly birthday party for Anna on Saturday August 7th.

This last Sunday, we decided to go to the park close to our home. It was such a bright sunny day we had to get out and enjoy it. It was a little too bright for Anna. I forgot her sun hat at home. Our Nice Camera is finally operational again! Only $250 to get a tiny little switch fixed! At least i can be Anna's Momarazzi again. I am sure she was wondering where Mommy's favorite toy went.

Miss Anna is now NINE months old! I can hardly believe it! Only three months away from turning ONE! Wasn't Anna just born? I mean really? Time has gone by way too quick for my liking.
Anna is developing quite the little personality! She loves to 'sing' and 'dance' to music. We have to take her out of church because she can't stop singing. She gets very excited about her food (she can feed herself). I have never seen a baby open their mouth so wide to get food in. Anna can crawl somewhat! I call it doing the inch warm. It is really cute to see her trying so hard to get around. I give her one more week and she will be doing some real crawling. I guess it's time to baby proof!

One of Anna's favorite things is having her Daddy walk her around. She has amazing balance and only needs to hold on to Adams two fingers.

Anna has her Mommy and especially her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. She knows we would do anything for her.

I don't know what I would do with out this sweet little girl! She means the world to me. I am amazed sometimes when I sit back and think that I am a Mother and I have a daughter. Theses last nine months with Anna have been hard and wonderful. I truly feel bless that she has come into my life. She is my reason for Mothers day!

One of my favorite animals at the zoo is the polar bears. When we went by the exhibit those rascally polar bears were sleeping. I guess we will just have to go back soon.

Mini Vacation

Anna's fist trip to the beach could not of been better! The weather was amazing! It felt like summer weather.

Even with all the wind, Daddy kept Anna snug as a bug. She even took a little nap.

Adam camped here 25 years ago with his family. Adam said that he was not disappointed, Oswald west was just as beautiful as he remembered it! I have to agree with him, it was quite idealistic!

I loved our mini vacation! It felt so good to get away for a while! We came back feeling rejuvenated and refreshed! I definitely will not wait two more years to go back.

I forgot to mention that this last week was Adam and I's four year anniversary, hence the trip to the beach. Still as in love as ever! I love you sweetie!

It's simple little things that make up our day. I cherish my time with my sweet little Anna. She is such a love. I thought I would share a little of our everyday life. It is not an exciting life, but I love it!

We read a few books everyday, but they always end up in Anna's mouth. Yummy books!

Anna and I spend every waking minute together. Sometime i get a little silly to keep her happy. Proof of my silliness below in video! :-)

Driving Miss Anna

As a new mom I constantly worry about my little girl, sometimes obsessively. I think things like is she asleep or is she dead??? I am always thinking about the worst case scenario.

Having this little mirror has been a life saver. I can look in the rear view mirror and know that Anna is sleeping or staring out the window, not in fact dead! Plus it allows me to see sweet little images like the ones below! That is definitely something I do not want to miss out on!

Just so I don't miss out, are there any other baby must haves I should know about?

Sweet Six Months

I can hardly believe that my new born baby is six months old! A whole half a year old. This is just crazy to me.

Anna has developed so much in the last month. She can now sit up unassisted for a few minutes. She is eating baby food like crazy, she can't get enough. She can say "Mama" quite well, especially when she is tired and cranky. We are still working on saying "Dada". Adam works on that daily with Anna, so I am sure it will be her next word.

We went to Anna's six month check up last week and she is going great. I was a little concerned that she only gained 3/4 of a pound in two months. The Doc. said it was nothing to worry about. Here are her six month stats: Weight 15 lbs 11 ozs and height 27 inches.
Anna's hair just keeps getting longer and longer. I actually had to give her a trim recently, so she wouldn't have a baby mullet. I kept the hair of course!

Doing something on Saturday!

It feels like ages since we have gone out and actually did something on Saturday. Since the weather was cooperating we decided to head into down town Portland for a little adventure.

I was bummed when we found out that Saturday market was not going on today. Instead there was a vast empty space where the elephant ear cart should of been! How rude!

Little Anna was fast asleep in Daddy's arms, when the Amtrak came around the corner and blew it's horn so loud it could wake the dead. Needless to say the nap was over and crying commenced!

Eating at my favorite Thai restaurant finished off our little trip. Nothing like a little Pad Thai to make you feel better.

Such a happy girl! After two weeks of crying and not letting me out of her sight the tides have turned. Anna is now happily playing with her Daddy and letting him hold her. She is doing a lot more smiling and laughing which makes us so happy! Anna is also going to bed and waking up at a decent time, which has to do a lot with her and my happiness. Things are looking up.

5 1/2 months

Some up dates on Anna. Anna started to eat "real" food this last week. She loves her food and can't get enough. Anna grabs at everything and try to put it in her mouth. Her favorate things to put in her mouth include Mommy's hair, paper, her feet, toys, clothes and her hands.

Anna has become a Mommy's girl. She will not let me out of her sight. If I put her down and try to do things like clean of take a shower, she screams in protest until I pick her up. This does not make for a happy Mommy! Even Adam can't seem to calm her down. Adam has taken to calling him self the second string.

Anna loves to be outside. When ever we go on walks she is a perfect little angel. She just looks around in wonder the whole time. It must be so fascinating seeing things for the first time. The whole world is so new to her.

Anna can now say Mama, Although I usually only hear her say mama when she is crying for me. She is still sounding out many syllables and I have no doubt she will say many more things soon.

All in all Anna is a sweet, happy and healthy little girl, and that is all I could ever ask for. We just keep falling more and more in love with this sweet girl. She definitely has a hold of our harts in a big way!

No more paparazzi please! I'm eating here!

Anna loved her fist meal of sweet potato. She could not get enough of it. I was putting off feeding Anna real food, because that means she is growing up! I don't like the thought of my little nugget getting bigger, but I guess I will just have to deal.

With all of the effort she was putting into reaching for my food, I figured it was about time to indulge her. She was so excited to finally be able to eat real food. She kept grabbing the spoon and shoving it in her mouth! When I took the spoon away to get more food she made a little grunting sound and lunged forward to get more.

Anna is officially a food eater and not just a milk drinker. Baby steps!

I love how babies always have closed fists, it is so cute. Sadly Anna is growing out of this stage. It was always so much fun to open up her had and find lint in between her fingers. :)

The Bug

Can this girl get any cuter? I think so. Everyday Anna surprises me, that she got even cuter!

As I sit her listening to Anna cry in her crib (sleep training is not going so well). I think about how much I love my little bug. She has been the bright light in my day, for the last almost five months. I can't imagine my life with out her! She is growing so quick, I know I need to savor every moment with her. So even though she is crying for hours on end. I know this too will pass, and every moment is a blessing!

Just feeling blessed!

Simply a Wonderful Christmas Time.

We had a wonderful Christmas in Medford, with my family. I always love seeing my sisters and parents. Anna enjoyed being the center of attention for five days. I am not sure she was ever put down, with all her Aunts and Grandparents around.

As I predicted, Anna was not interested in any of the presents. She was still recovering from the night before when she stayed up until 4am. She just really wanted to see Santa Claus!

I love going to Jacksonville during the Christmas season! They have the whole town decorated in a Victorian theme.

It was simply a wonderful Christmas!

Four Month Check Up.

It is official Anna is four months old! I can't believe it! She had her four month check up today and she is doing great. Here are her stats, weight 15 pounds, height 25 inches, cuteness over the top!
As an early Christmas present Anna got a Princess crib and pretty bedding. I think it is so gorgeous! I am not sure Anna will be too thrilled when she finds out that she has to move out of Mommy & Daddy's room. I am going to miss having her so close to me at night!
Such a cute baby! Anna get loads of complements when ever we go out. People especially love her hair and her cute piggy tails.
My Mom said I loved my Johnny Jump Up when I was a baby. When I saw the JENNY Jump Up at the store, I had to have it! We put her in it last night and she loved it!

Time is sure flying by! Anna is going to be four months old this week. Anna just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. I like to say she is pure sugar!

Anna's hair is growing like crazy. I never thought i would have to manage a four month olds hair. It is fun putting it in different styles. My favorites are her "Bam Bam" pony tail, or her "Bugy tails", which make her look like she has little attains.

Anna is such an enjoyable baby! We just love her so much!

My Sweet little Anna is three months old today. She has grown so much. There are so many sweet moments that I just want to freeze in time. Anna has started to smile. She has to be the right mood to smile. Today I saw her smiling at her stuffed monkey. It was so cute! There is nothing like a babies smile to brighten up your day!

Anna has discovered her hands and sucks on them all the time. She has tried on numerous occasions to put her whole fist in her mouth. I keep telling her that it is just not going to fit!

Anna is developing her own little personality. She is a funny little girl and is always making her parents crack up.

She is doing baby talk all the time now. I love listening to her little stories she tells. I could listen to her all day long.
We are so blessed with such a good baby! Everyday I spend with this little girl just makes me love her more.

Happy Halloween

The two party animals. Adam was a vampire and Anna was a princess dragon. I know Anna's costume was a little random, but there is slim pickings on baby costumes. It was either a pumpkin or a dragon. I wanted to feminines it and make her look pretty, so i added the pink bow and pink tutu. Adam and I's costumes were very last minute. The party was at 630pm and I got the costumes at 530pm. I pretty much just got what I could grab. When I brought the vampire cape home Adam told me that he had an extreme fear of vampires as a kid. I thought that was pretty funny since he was now going to be one. At least he got to use his wedding tux a second time!
I was a butterfly, at least I had butterfly wings. I promise to do better next year. I am thinking we should be Snow White (Anna), Cinderella and Prince charming. We will see if it works out.
These two party animals did the cake walk, went through the hunted house and did some trunk or treating.

Our Sweet little Anna is already two months old. Here are her stats 12Lbs 23in. She is growing right on schedule, but entirely too fast for my liking. She is already out growing her newborn clothes and moved up the next size in diapers. I just want to keep her small and cute forever. I am excited to see her grow and learned new things. We are so ready to be parents! Yesterday was Anna's due date, but she decided to hang out for a while longer. We decided to take a hike in near by Tryon Creek State park, to take our minds off of the due date. We were hoping that all the walking might bring on some contractions, no such luck!

It was nice anyways to be out walking around on the shaded trails. I love Portland, where else can you find beautiful State Parks in the city limits, with art installations along the trails. It really was beautiful!

I know we will see our little girl soon! The waiting is the hard part! I will keep you posted!

We loved the Jeepster, but the time came for us to part ways! We just could not resist the government funded cash for cars program! We got $4,500 trade in value for the Jeep. This is amazing since Adam said he paid less then that almost 10 years ago!

It was surprisingly emotional to drive off and leave the Jeep behind. We had our first date and drove off on our wedding day in the Jeep! We had a lot of good memories in that car!

Part of the cash for cars program was that once you trade your car in it has to be scraped! We would of felt better if we knew some teenager was enjoying it! The Jeep could of gone another 100,000 miles easy!

Touring Portland

Since my family was in town for the weekend, we hit up some of the Portland sights. First stop was the Pittock Mansion.

The Mansion is not only beautiful but in my opinion has the best view of Portland

Second stop - Portland Rose Garden.

We caught the roses at the end of the season, but it was still beautiful!

My Baby Shower

This last Saturday we my Baby Shower. My Mother in-law Susie and Sister in-law Jessica did an amazing job! The weather was perfect, the food was amazing and the company was the best.

Medford (5 hour drive) for the occasion.

My sister in-law Jessica made this pretty diaper cake. She has some skills I must say!

All of the food was so good! I definitely ate my share of cream puffs and dipped into the chocolate fountain.

My sister Naomi had every one guess how big my pregnant belly was with string.
My Mom actually guessed that I was double the size. Thanks Mom!

Jessica put together a Memory game. Being pregnant is definitely not good for your memory. I surprised myself by actually getting a few right!

My friend Allison was actually due to have her baby on the day of my shower. Lucky for me her little girl decided to delay her appearance for a few days. She is still waiting!
