Sunriver Horses & Bicycles

Adam & I decided to explore Sunriver Oregon by bike, a bicycle built for two that is. I really like the tandem bike because we were close and could talk the whole time. I know if we got 2 regular bikes Adam would of been way ahead of me the whole time. It was a little tricky to get a hang of at first, there were a few near accidents but we made it alright.

Sunriver is a little resort town 15 minutes out of Bend. I would love to have a family reunion in Sunriver, it had everything. Miles of paved trails, bikes to rent, horses to ride, swimming pools, roller skating, restaurants and even its own observatory to look at stars. Plus it is just beautiful!

Hiking in Bend.

You could see the whole city from Pilot Butte.

Adam & I love hiking, it is the best was to get outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Bend definitely has a lot of beautiful scenery to see.

Drake Park, Bend Oregon

Beautiful Drake Park in Bend.
The flowers were out in full force.

10 Acres in the heart of Bend were set aside for Drake Park. The park was so beautiful!

Detroit Dam

On our way to Bend we stoped by Detroit Dam. It was a small dam but the view was so pretty we had to get a few pictures in.

Musical Weekend in Bend, OR.

View from our Hotel in Bend was amazing! It was like having front row seats to the concert.

We had a fun musical weekend. We went to a concert on Saturday night. Death Cab for Cutie & The Decemberest. The Concert was general admission so we stood up for about 5 hours, squeezed together with 7,000 other people. The Decemberist were my favorite. I would definitely see them again.

The next night we decided to stay in and watch a concert from our hotel balcony. The venue was only about a half mile from where were were so it was like having front row seat, only were went getting wet and pushed around by a crowd. Modest mouse & The Breeders were playing Sunday night.

Beautiful Portland

Sometimes I forget what a beautiful city I live in. Adam and I decided to go out on Sunday to enjoy the beautiful weather. We ended up walking along the waterfront in downtown Portland for a few hours just enjoying the pretty scenery. There are so many reasons why I love Portland, but I have to say the different people you meet/see here is one of my favorites. While we were walking around we saw, people surfing the wakes of the big ships, skiing with some crazy Rollerblades, all types and ages biking and amazing street pro formers playing dueling violins. I can't think of a better place to live! Portland Rocks!

Dog Mt. Hike

We climbed some serious heights on Saturday. Sam, Jessica, Adam & I hiked 3000 feet strait up for 4 miles to reach the top of Dog Mountain. The trail was grueling, but the views were well worth it. From the top of the Mountain you could see Mt Jefferson, Mt St Helen and the tip of Mt Hood! Not to mention the best view I have ever seen of the Columbia river Gorge! There is just a few weeks out of the year where the mountain meadows are covered in wild flowers, some flowers you can not find anywhere else in the world! The flowers were amazing! I highly recommend this hike, but only if you are up for a serious challenged!

Happy Birthday! and Happy Friday!

OK, so it is really no ones birthday. But Isn't this picture so cute! My sister Sariah sent me this picture of her son Shawn today. Just looking at the smile on his face and the mischievous look in his eyes makes me smile! Hears to a wonderful, sunny weekend.
